A MAJOR urban village worth almost $1 billion is expected to be unveiled within weeks, to replace one of the western suburb’s most prominent factories.
 
It’s speculated planning minister Justin Madden, members of the Maribyrnong City Council and developer DE Group, will launch the Yarraville Gardens Estate, and Yarraville Gardens Shopping Centre, to be developed on a 26 hectare site known as the former Bradmill factory – at the suburb border of West Footscray and Altona North – about 10 kilometres from the CBD.
