Stats show decline in Perth, but better times in other cities PDF Print E-mail

Statistics from Home Price Guide on the major cities are very revealing about the market trend in each location.

The average time taken to sell a home in Perth was 35 days a year ago; today it?s over 100 days. In the same time period, the average private treaty discount (the average difference between the initial advertised asking price and the eventual sold price) has risen in Perth from 3% to almost 6%. Auction clearance rates in Perth a year ago were typically 60% but today are more likely to be 30% to 40%. These figures depict a market which has passed its peak and slipping into decline.

Other capital cities, however, are showing improvements, with the average days on the market improving steadily
